Pierre Sonigo's 50-year career in risk and insurance started in the late 1960s with Factory Mutual Insurance Company. A decade later he joined Pechiney to become its first risk manager. He then became Director of Risk Management & Insurance for Saint-Gobain Group before returning to Pechiney at the end of the 1990's as Vice President of Environment, Health, Safety, Risk Management.
He played a pivotal role in the development of key risk management associations in France and Europe including GACI and AMRAE and was FERMA's Secretary General for 10 years.
